When viewed on a map, which U.S. state’s shape might best be described as an irregular hexagon?
What about California?

I’m with Nate – what about CA?

Might be stretching it a bit, but Oklahoma and Idaho may work too.

Connecticut fits too.

The first state that came to my mind was Nevada, though I can see Utah fitting the bill as well.
Some of the other states mentioned here–California, for example–do not appear straight-edged, and, therefore, don’t fit the criteria as well.

Peter’s correct. Nevada is close to a pentagon (save for some meandering in the southeast corner). Some states, like Louisiana, are very roughly shaped like hexagons, but Utah is the only one of the straight-bordered states that fits the bill here.

The obtuse angle is not the only thing that makes it irregular. Non-congruent sides make it irregular as well.

Ohio is pretty close too. The edges aren’t straight, but the corners are mostly well defined.
