On this Tax Day, many of us are shelling out big bucks to the federal government. Too bad Monopoly money doesn’t suffice. Can you distinguish the seven different denominations of currency used in the game of Monopoly just by the color of the bills?

  1. Too easy! My family is fanatical about Monopoly. My mother can tell you the rent for any property, with any amount of buildings on it. Well, the original edition. The newer versions she has yet to master.

  2. 100%!! I played a LOT of Monopoly when I was a kid, and was only happy when I had the entire stack of orange $500s and sent the rest of my family to the poor house.

  3. Got 0/7 right away and couldn’t figure it out. Then realized instead of putting the corresponding number for each value, I’d filled the boxes with the values ’500′, ’10′, ’50′, etc. Duh!

Fixed them and got 100%, though I’ll admit much of that was luck. I only ‘knew’ about half of them.

  4. Those aren’t the colours of the monopoly money in my set. Are they different from country to country?

  5. 100% – Easy for me too, since I played quite a bit as a kid.

I did notice that you can get an idea of how many digits were removed on some of the bills (most noticeable on the white bill).

  6. Haha I did the same things as EV and I KNEW they were all right!! Phew, good thing I figured that out!

  7. This might be easy for Americans but in the UK the colours are for different values of £s to what they mean for $

  8. I switched 10 and 100 – I knew they were shades of yellow, so I was in the right neighborhood.

Also, I had no idea I knew this. Interesting what the mind will retain and be able to recall.
