I love Anish Kapoor's work! Thank you Andréa!

I first saw his "Three Witches" at the National Gallery of Canada 10+ years ago ~ three large limestone blocks facing each other with a deep blue pigment crevice in each. So very, very...mysterious, powerful and sexy. I've visited many times since and even wrote a chemistry paper about them (ta da: A+...it was the subject that did it).

Mr. Kapoor may not like public sculpture but, wow, can he do it superbly.

I live and work in downtown Chicago and on a nice day the Bean is a cool place to walkaround during the lunch hour. I never don't get tired of it! Go Bean!

I know Kapoor from the sculpture, Marsyas, he did for the Tate Modern turbine hall. This is a huge space (the building is a former power station) and his sculpture was one of the few that managed to completely fill that space in a really satisfying way. It even had a piece of music written for it by classical composer Arvo Part.

I do love the Bean. I've been there a couple of times. It's fun to look at your own distorted reflection as well as the skyline.

I went to Chicago last summer and saw the bean in person and it really is amazing, it was night time so the whole surrounding skyline of the city is reflected off the side, it really was beautiful.
