Since its inception in 1975, Saturday Night Live has skewered politicians on both sides of the aisle. Today’s quiz asks how well you remember which actors played which politicians, from Ronald Reagan (in ‘76) to Joe Biden (in ‘91). Then, if you’re still looking to kill some time, come back and tell us your favorite SNL political sketch.

  1. A few:

Ackroyd as Carter doing a call-in show, Ask Pres. Carter, talks a kid down from a bad acid trip, “Ok, what you took was some orange sunshine… just relax, stay inside and listen to some music. Do you have any Allman Bros?”

Jon Lovitz as Michael Dukakis deadpanning to the camera, “I can’t believe I’m losing to this guy.” (the first Bush)

Will Ferrell plays George W Bush w/ short-attention span, winds up playing w/ a ball of yarn like a distracted kitten (so true).

Phil Hartmann doing almost anything as Clinton, but especially explaining economics at a McDonalds

I think it was Randy Quaid playing Reagan as a secretly ruthless and controlling bastage while protraying a publicly benign and friendly (and forgetful) man.

  2. Will Ferrell as George W. Bush, “Axis of Evil” “Heh heh, how do you like them apples France, you didn’t like me saying Axis of Evil, now you are in the Axis of evil! Now here is a new Axis memeber I bet you weren’t expecting… DICK CHENEY!”
