Changing one letter at a time to form new words, and leaving the other letters in their original position, can you convert the word SLEEP into the word DREAM? I was able to do it in six steps:
S L E E P
_ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _
D R E A M
SLEEP
SLEEK
CLEEK
CREEK
CREAK
CREAM
DREAM
I’m pretty sure a Cleek is a kind of golf club.

I started with dream and went up. I couldn’t get it the other way.

Gene, careful with that BLEEP-BLEAK jump, since it changes 2 letters. There’s probably a similar way through it, though.
