Caitlin – in shore areas like this one, we get a big influx of people from out of state – the cops are known to be harder on them because usually it’s not worth it for them to have to travel all the way back here to fight the ticket. People from out of state are more likely to just pay a fine so that they can be done with it and move on.

Sorry you didn’t have the best experience in Jersey. I have to say, I’ve never minded not having to pump my own gas, but the jughandles get really annoying.

I used to live on E street! It’s actually in South Belmar (but they call it Lake Como now). It’s a tiny dinky little street from what I remember…

Having a fake ID. The night I was arrested, I was exactly 20 and 8 months. I don’t mean given a warning and having the ID taken. I mean handcuffs, fingerprints, mugshots,and police station. By the time I went to court *and paid a $2000 fine* I was 21. Now, I’m not saying what I did was fine, I know it was illegal, but seriously? That’s on my record now. I have to tell jobs and stuff about it, or it looks funny. And 2 grand? My friend got a dui and it was $1500. Don’t the cops have real police work to do? Urggggg New Jersey. It is my new policy not to trust state that don’t let you pump your own gas or make left hand turns.

I’m reading this from my office in Neptune, NJ, which is a stone’s throw from Asbury Park and Belmar. Having lived in this area for a good portion of my life, I’ve learned a whole lot about Bruce. I’m surprised it’s not a required class in elementary school or something. I’m a fan, mostly of his wonderful talent of poetically capturing nostalgia in a song.

I got arrested in Belmar for something really dumb and very unarrest-worthy. I’m boycotting Jersey for the next 5 years. I do love The Boss though.

I saw him in Dallas on his last tour (promoting Magic) with my dad. I had to fly to Kansas City for a cousin’s wedding, but my dad and I ducked out the next morning and flew back to Dallas in time to catch the concert. So much fun, and a great bonding experience with Dad.
