Andy Warhol Paints Debbie Harry on an Amiga Computer
by Chris Higgins - April 30, 2009 - 3:33 PM

So this is nerdy. Here’s a video from 1985 in which Andy Warhol digitally paints over a photo of Debbie Harry, at an Amiga computer launch. When they show the Amiga’s screen, check out the amazing lifelike graphics!

  1. Stellar find.

    Haha, Warhol’s so chill…he’s hilarious.

  2. My girlfriend’s grandmom was friends with Andy Warhol.
He painted a whole deck of cards for a game of poker at her house one time but she lost them all.

  3. That event was the Amiga’s unveiling for the press. The paint program Warhol used was a quick’n'dirty hack the software team cobbled together for the demo. Later programs like Deluxe Paint were the most advanced of their time.
