I’d actually want to name some species of something after Jeff Mangum. For those who don’t know who he is (which I figure would be most people), he is the lead singer/songwriter/guitarist from the (somewhat) popular indie rock band Neutral Milk Hotel. Because he’s the frontman of my favorite band, I’d love to name an animal in homage to him. And honestly, there’s something cool about an animal whose scientific name is [genus] mangumii.

Steve Irwin… I doubt we’ll be finding any new species of Croc anytime soon, but a reptile or lizard would seem ideal. Really, he worked with so many animals, I’d say the door’s open pretty wide on this one.

If I had to wadger a guess, I would say it’s probably Brandon Flowers, lead singer of The Killers. And, if I were naming a species, I’d probably go for the same :)
