One of my favorite ways to waste time at work is to read a quote from Steven Wright or Mitch Hedberg, then ask my co-workers to guess which one said it. (We have quite a time down here.) With this quiz, you can play along at home.

  1. 11/12.

    Love both of these guys.

  2. 100% correct! Booyah.

Two of my all-time favourites. Good quiz!

  3. GREATEST QUIZ EVAAAAAR!

  4. I’m with karen. My favorite Mitch Hedberg quote: “My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana. I was like, no, but I’ll want a regular banana later, so, yes.” Or something like that.

  5. I was sorta impressed with the 10/12 I got…sneaky putting a Smokey the Bear quote on there.

I was fortunate enough to see Mitch and Stephen Lynch right before Mitch died, maybe a month or two before? It was seriously great. He worked with a bunch of his new stuff and then basically machine gunned out a bunch of his old stuff right in the middle. “Here’s what you all know….” and then all the classics, then back to his new stuff.

    He is most definitely missed.

  6. I use the word totally too much. I need to switch it up and find a word that is different but means the same thing.
“Do you like submarine sandwiches Mitch?”
    “All encompassingly…..”

    RIP, Mitch.

This quiz was easier if I said them in my head to both of their voices. Such great delivery.

  7. “I stuck my head out the window, looked up, smiled…..and took a satellite photo.” – SW

  8. Very interesting. Not knowing anything about Mitch Hedberg, I chose Steven Wright if I thought the line was funny, and Hedberg if I didn’t.
    Got all 12 correct, too.

  9. Same here about seeing Mitch before he passed. One of the best lineups ever…Mitch, Dave Attell, then Louis Black.

Still one of the alltime greats. Whenever I need a laugh a youtube search of Mitch always gets the job done. His rice bit always kills me.

  10. To “Lee” up there:
Mitch Hedberg (RIP) was arguably the funniest comedian of all time. Your negativity is not needed! Check him out before you knock his material.

  11. 100%

I was gonna go see Mitch Hedberg the fall before he passed away, but something came up.
    Very sad.

  12. I am not sure who Mitch Hedberg is, but I do know that Steven Wright is one of the funniest people on the planet! My favorite line of his is “I went to a place that advertised Breakfast Anytime so I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance.” Brilliant!!

  13. I love them both! I grew up with Steven Wright…fabulous! All of my friends thought he was hilarious as well! I found Mitch later…very funny man. Escalator is probably my favorite! Pity that he passed away! Laughing gives people life. Even deadpan like these two men are, life is what they/we laugh at!
