  1. thats not a ninja seaweed. its not a plant.its an animal.

  2. Do you know what kind of animal it is? I’d love to look it up for my files.

  3. I like the 10 things we hate about ISPs story. I was going to comment on it, but don’t have the time here at work to register at the PC World site. My addition is a complaint about the automated menu for our local cable company. Instead of playing cheesy Musak while I wait on hold for hours for someone to notice me, they only play ads for themselves. I find that so much more irritating. It makes me want to switch…but of course we’re in one of those monopoly towns.

I also read your cable horror story…and I have to say that I just plain can’t understand why cable companies can’t just hire enough technicians to handle their installation schedule and to be able to cater to customers’ schedules. I know that a lot of companies contract this work out, and that causes a lot of the scheduling problems, but it seems like it would be more efficient and cheaper in the end for the cable companies to just hire their own guys, train them properly, and care an eensy little bit about their customer service!

  4. That was a REALLY interesting article about failure. It’s crazy to think that mom just may have been right all of those years about getting back on that horse.

As for the Sea Ninja, I’m thinking it’s a sea cucumber, an animal with a plant-like appearance.

  5. The “ninja seaweed” could be a polychaete worm, but my money is on it being some sort of cnidarian. They’re related to jellyfish and some coral, and they use that lacy plume to filter plankton and other tiny food critters out of the water. The limbs are full of water for structure, and when threatened, the little bugger just lets it all out…like untying a balloon.

  6. The link for Failure seems to goto a password protected page.

and ironically, my captcha is their hotheads. not they’re hotheads.. but I guess they could Own some hotheads.
