Brain Game: Where’s the Love?
by Sandy Wood - May 18, 2009 - 7:30 AM

THE ANSWERS:

LOVE STORY (1970, #366, $106 million U.S.), and

SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE (1998, #417, $100 million U.S.).

These are the only two titles on the list that contain the word “love” or any form of the word “love.”

  1. Wow that was a tough one. I got the older one (hint from 1970) but the newer one I didn’t have a clue. Tough one for a Monday Sandy.

  2. Darn I only got one.

  3. Holy moly I got them both somehow!? Shakespeare was easy, and then Love Story just popped into my head.

  4. I got the older movie and took a stab with “The Spy Who Loved Me,” figuring that a James Bond blockbuster had a good chance to be on the list. Turns out I was wrong.

  5. I went old school twice. Got Love Story, missed with To Sir With Love.

  6. Got “Shakespeare in Love”, but my other guess was “Love Actually” which actually grossed only $60M.

“The Spy Who Loved Me” got $47M
“To Sir, With Love” got $42M
