As an addition to the last part of the article (though this may be fairly common knowledge), I have read that Agatha Christie was herself the focus of quite a mystery back in the late 20's. After her husband at the time had confessed to an affair and wanted a divorce, Christie disappeared for 11 days, turning up at a hotel and apparently suffering from amnesia.

Likewise the entire series of "The Babysitters Club." Presumably, however, not many people want to buy a two-foot tall stack of the adventures of teenage proto-entrepreneurs Claudia, Stacey, Kristy, Marianne, and their friends.

If the Wheel of Time was all compiled into one book, it would be larger. There are 9685 pages (so far)that comprise 11 out of 14 books. In fact, the last book was split into three books due to length (not many people want to buy a foot-long book)
