Oh no! I can’t seem to get the link to the “girls in science” article to work.
I can’t wait to read it. I read one almost a year ago bemoaning the disproportionate amount of young women attending higher education institutions compared to a dwindling number of young men – “gynoversities,” they hollered. It’s all so very poetic and quite amusing, no?

Re: The high cost of poverty. What a load of cr@p that article is. A few quotes:
- ‘The rich have direct deposit for their paychecks’. Really? I didn’t know there was a minimum income to join a bank….oh wait, there’s not.
- ‘The real estate is higher’. Really? I beg to differ. I am a City Planner by trade so I’m well aware of real estate costs.
- ‘I didn’t have the money and no source of getting money’. How about a J-O-B!
- ‘But how are you going to get in a house if you don’t have any money for a down payment’? Even in today’s climate you can get a 100% loan with just okay credit. And for a measely 3.5% down with $hitty credit.
- ‘I ride the bus to get to work,” Nicholas says. It takes an hour. “If I could drive, it would take me 10 minutes.’ …or maybe 20 minutes tops if you got a bike.
…and I could go on with the ‘poor me’ quotes and inaccuracies but I’m sure the intelligent folks on this site will note the rest of the bunk.
This is the biggest load of guilt ridden, biased, unresearched garbage I’ve read in a long time. Ms. C do me a favor and keep this junk on your blog and off one my my favorite places to kill a few minutes and learn something….that is something worth while.

TXCherokee, how about you watch the 30 days episode about living on minimum wage for a month and learn some humility?
