I’m a bona fide zombie movie fan; I’ve seen both the original and remake versions of Dawn of the Dead probably 50 times each, and I even enjoy the humorous twists taken in recent films like Shaun of the Dead and Fido. While not all zombie films have titles that end with the words “…of the Dead” or “…of the Living Dead,” today’s quiz is about motion pictures with those types of titles. All you have to do is examine each set of two titles and mark the one that is a REAL movie. Easy? There’s only one way to find out:
Take the Quiz: Quiz of the (Living) Dead
any chance you read “the walking dead”? it’s a great zombie comic.

I’ve heard of it, Grant, but haven’t read it. Thanks for the suggestion, though; I’ll check into it!

60% – not bad for guessing all of them!

“The Walking Dead” is a great series. It’s less about zombies and more about dealing with the other survivors. It is definitely worth checking out.

Too bad “The Walking Dead” is soooo horribly sexist and racist, though.

There’s always the “Zombie Survival Guide.” My husband tells me I need to read it for when the undead come trying to eat my braaaaaiiiiiinssssss.

‘The Walking Dead’ is an amazing comic. I feel R. is being a little too harsh ESPECIALLY for a zombie comic.
Max Brook’s Zombie Survival Guide is a great little book. Its got good tips for the invasion and stories of past outbreaks.
His other book, World War Z is an AMAZING piece of literature as it is more of a reflection of the human condition and our society. Theres not that many ‘zombie’ parts in terms of one on one fighting but its more how we would react to such an ordeal.
Day by Day Armageddon (look on Amazon) is another good one, a little more about a guy fighting zombies to stay alive.

I totally agree with the recommendation for ‘World War Z’ I am absolutely petrified of zombies (they don’t have a silver bullet solution… most movies end with the characters just running away or perishing! nobody ever solves the problem!!) but I thoroughly loved that book. Plus it makes me happy to live in Canada with some cold cold winters!!

Has anyone seen Zombies Anonymous(2006) (also known as Last Rites for the Dead) ? It is a fanTAStic movie! Full of social commentary on things like feminism, racism, and prejudice. The recently deceased become zombies but retain their cognition. It’s a refreshing take on your typical zombie film, though I hear the DVD version cuts some important material.
