Ridiculously Expensive Tetris $helving
by Mangesh Hattikudur - October 30, 2006 - 1:32 PM

draft_982_big.jpgMy 5th grade summer was probably the palest I’ve ever been thanks to one little word: Tetris. (Just typing the word makes me grin!) It just so happens that 5th grade was the summer I got my first Gameboy, and while my overall athleticism quickly dwindled, my thumbs went through the sort of rigorous conditioning you only expect from Russian gymnasts, Kentucky-bred racehorses, and moderate steroid users. In any case, all that’s to say, I loved me some Tetris, so you can imagine my giddiness over seeing this over at ProductDose– Tetris-shaped shelves! Of course, with each individual shelf costing $600, you’ll have plenty of time to figure out how to line up the next block on your wall. Click here to learn more.

  1. Amazing…
I remember saving up my allowance to buy a Gameboy. Oh how I miss it.

  2. Hmmm…
Looking at that picture makes me wonder why the first row hasn’t disappeared.

I suspect you could make this for little cost on your own.

  3. The bottom row of the bookcase has not disappeared because it is only 9 squares wide, the standard board is 10.

At the height of my Tetris addiction with the Gameboy I could launch the shuttle nearly every time (the addicts know what I mean). It was so bad that when I closed my eyes, I could see the pieces falling into place. When I was reading, I would see Tetris pieces fitting between the letters and words.

I finally had to join a 12-set program.

  4. Yeah, totally. I remember my Tetris phase during which I had to play cds as I went to sleep cause I could hear the theme in my head otherwise and couldn’t get and f*cking rest.
