News of the tragic Iran election protests is dominating headlines everywhere. It’s the lead story at the NY Times, CNN, the BBC and most other international news sources. But if you’re curious what the top story coming out of North Korea’s international news service/government supported truth-telling machine, it’s this:

That’s right. The top story coming out of North Korea is that Russian dancers took to the stage in Wonson City. For those of you who are interested, they “put on the stage colorful pieces representing national emotion and customs of peoples of Russia and other countries.”

MSNBC was re-running a special on that same Russian dance performance all day Saturday. (OK, they weren’t, but they were airing ‘MSNBC Investigates: Diagnosis Murder’ instead of covering the protests. David Shuster must have been at a wedding or something.)

Jason is just mad because MSNBC doesn’t invite him on to talk about Mental Floss like CNN does. :-)

Meanwhile, the big headline in the U.S. is “What’s going to happen tonight on Jon & Kate Plus Eight?” Oh, America.

But when you click on the link there is actually a link to the side that is titled, “nuclear test”…. Click on that sucker. Thats a shame. Notice how many celebrations of successful test are up.

Yup… that’s the overall homepage I linked to (not just the day’s stories). The Nuclear stuff is pretty scary, but the reporting on the captured journalists is even scarier to me.

Actual excerpt from the Korean newspaper on the hostages:
“We are following with a high degree of vigilance the attitude of the U.S. which spawned the criminal act against the DPRK.”
O man… Scary…

Actually the big news is Jon and Kate filed for divorce (In very large letters). Along with P.S. Ed McMahon passed away today (but it’s in very small letters). And it is sad he passed away too :(
