Released in 1985, the Garbage Pail Kids were the back alley answer to the too-cute Cabbage Patch Kids dolls. The cards, created by Art Spiegelman, who would go on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1992 for his graphic novel Maus, were disgusting, violent, hilarious, and very clever. As with most things from the ’80s, GPK cards are back again – currently on the seventh series of all-new, even more disgusting cards for kids to collect.
I know I had a stack of them. Did you? Let’s see if you remember who’s who in this gross-out gallery of great childhood memories.
Take the Quiz: Garbage Pail Kids
8 out of 18.
A few years ago I bought the Garbage Pail Kids movie because it had just been released on DVD.
I loved the movie as a kid, but now I’m kind of upset that I spend $14 dollars on a REALLY terrible movie.

I’m pretty sure each GPK had a “twin”.
Same picture, different name.

Kevin-
You’re right, there were A and B cards with the same artwork, but different names. I’m sure it was a business decision on Topps’ part – two cards for the price of one.
For the quiz, though, there are no trick questions. Only one of the names is correct, but they could have been either the A or the B card name.
hehe ReCaptcha: also gushy (Seems fitting)

I had a box full of these when I was a kid. Mom gave them away at a garage sale a few years ago. Gave them away!

I have completed this collection as a kid. Can’t remember where my mom put my card collection.
