The good people at CNN.com Live had me back yesterday to discuss Danny Gallagher’s recent article on songs used by military personnel and law enforcement officers to torture and intimidate suspects. Among other things, we learned that anchors Reggie Aqui & Naamua Delaney are not big fans of Barney.
Jason… is it just me or was that one of the most awkward television segments ever? It seemed like the anchors had no idea what they were talking about and had some serious trouble flowing with the cue cards. You put forth a far superior performance… BRAVO!

I thought it was kind of rude of them to be having casual conversation with each other while you had to wait for them

Interviewers are like that Izam… they think they are the focus of attention and not their guest, which of course is incorrect.
I am a huge fan of a former documentary host and noticed this when watching many TV interviews he did. It’s also very common with radio hosts too.
I was shocked at how many interviews, even on national shows like MSNBC and the like, didn’t seem familiar at all with his show but yet went on to question him acting like they do.
I love Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert and I have to give them many kudos because, when they interview someone, they seem to have read the book, seen the show or movie (or at least extensive previews), etc… they ask in depth, knowledgeable questions that make for great interviews.

I think you guys are being too hard on them. It’s an informal internet newscast. My boss has this show running on a big monitor all afternoon in our office, and Reggie & Naamua (spelling?) will grow on you. I could see both of them graduating to bigger and better things in the next few years.

I was surprised that the rock n roll music assault on Manuel Noriega while he was hiding in the vatican diplomatic mission in Panama City was not mentioned.
