You know Ben Franklin was a Pennsylvania man, and Thomas Jefferson was on Team Virginia. But what about the less famous Founding Fathers? Today’s quiz asks you to choose which state 12 signers of the Declaration of Independence were representing.

  1. As a New Jersey resident, the only one I was sure of was Richard Stockton.

Which begs the question, do the other obscure founding fathers in this quiz have sub-par state colleges in the hick areas named after them?

  2. 100%

I was a little uncertain about some of them (e.g. Josiah Bartlett), but I used to do a mock Constitutional Convention with my students who had to adopt the personae of various Founding Fathers, and that pretty much saved me.

  3. Yep, some of them I only knew because of the musical, 1776. Great quiz!
