I’m not even remotely convinced that Grant was gay — why keep marrying even into your 70s (80s?) if you don’t care for women? And suing over Chase’s statement is consonant with that.

He’s just my favorite actor ever. Who can compare?

Also, he was very gay! This might be too common knowledge for a “5 Things,” but he lived with his boyfriend throughout all 5 of his marriages, and some screenwriters-in-the-know had fun with the open secret: In Bringing Up Baby, he prances in a frilly pink nightie and declares he “went gay all of a sudden!”; in Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House, his character has a downright obession with closets — and gets trapped in one. I’ve always like the story how Cary Grant fought so hard to get an unheard of amount of money at the time for his role in _The Philadelphia Story_, then turned around and donated it all to the British War Relief Fund.

chevy chase could not ever even come close to being worthy of shining Cary Grant’s shoes. He’s an idiot. btw, weirdest/funniest movie, in my opinion, is Arsenic and Old Lace. It’s on TCM every once in a while.

Um…could someone maybe explain to me how Chevy Chase comes/came close to being compared to Cary Grant?? They both made some funny movies in their day, but lemme see…what do I wanna watch tonight, “Oh Heavenly Dog” or “Bringing Up Baby”?
