
Although they are still technically legal tender, high-denomination bills like the $1000 and $5000 were last printed in 1945. On July 14, 1969, in an attempt to decrease unlawful activities relating to organized crime, the Federal Reserve System officially discontinued this quirky currency.

Well, perfect score on all the “regular” bills/coins. I’d love to see the back story on the larger bills (why they were printed, etc).
