Which one of these fribbles looks more intelligent? How you answer may have more to do with whether you are left-handed than with your judgment. (via Metafilter)

  1. I PICKED LEFT and bottom) (and i’m a lefty)

  2. I picked mostly left and I’m right-handed. The stats in the article sounded a little iffy to me. “54% of right handers attributed positive characteristics more often to Fribbles on the right”? That’s hardly more than if they had picked randomly. Maybe there is something to left-handers preferring things on the left, as those percentages were consistently higher, but I’m not so sure about right-handers.

  3. That leprosy story was fascinating. I had no idea.

  4. This video is a win/win/win for me.

I am a big Modest Mouse fan, a Heath Ledger fan, a Dirty Dozen Brass Band fan and a vegetarian who is against the cruelty of animals.

Plus the music is very good.

  5. Ummmm…maybe a little pessimistic here, but do you think that is possible that people chose the objects that is the same as their handedness is simply because those objects are closest to the hand they write and/or point with….and were just taking the shortest route to an answer….or just being lazy. ;)

  6. TXCherokee…
I write and use utensils with my right, throw with my left, and point with both. I don’t think i made my decisions based off of which hand is more dominant. I also never lifed finger, I pointed the fribbles with my eyes.

It might be coincidence though, that i picked all left and i consider myself a lefty. I looked at each fribble and made connections with things to base my answer. for example, the first one has a “head” that is square, like a book, therefore wanting me to assume it’s more intelligent. The next one down had a more feminine figure – if there was one – and had slender curves. to me, it was more aesthetically pleasing. Finally, the bottom one had an upward curve on it’s “nose” giving it the impression that it’s more upbeat. I picked that as the happy one. It’s also possible that the tests are flawed because of those very same reasons. getting someone to choose a good or bad figure based off of figures that have differences, even slightly, takes away from a simple left-right answer.
