31 Unbelievable High School Mascots
by Jason English - August 5, 2009 - 5:05 PM

mascot0

Last week, we declared that the Laurel Hill Hoboes had the best high school nickname/mascot/logo combination. (A close second: the Chinook Sugar Beeters.) We invited readers to try to top these memorable logos, and try to top them you did. Here are 27 pretty great ones, followed by our two favorite submissions.

mascot1b

1. Huntington Beach Oilers (Huntington Beach, California); 2. Fisher Bunnies (Fisher, Illinois); 3. Avon Old Farms Winged Beavers (Avon, Connecticut)

mascot2

4. Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms (Blooming Prarie, Minnesota); 5. Poca Dots (Poca, West Virginia); 6. Orofino Maniacs (Orofino, Idaho)

mascot3

7. Camas Papermakers (Camas, Washington); 8. Hesston Swathers (Hesston, Kansas)

mascot4

9. Hickman Kewpies (Columbia, Missouri); 10. Coalinga Horned Toads (Coalinga, California); 11. Richland Bombers (Richland, Washington)

mascot5

12. Astoria Fighting Fishermen (Astoria, Oregon); 13. Mitchell Kernels (Mitchell, South Dakota); 14. Williamsport Millionaires (Williamsport, Pennsylvania)

mascot6

15. Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts (Kaukauna, Wisconsin); 16. Ridgefield Spudders (Ridgefield, Washington)

atom-smashers

17. Johnson Atom Smashers (Savannah, Georgia)

mascot7

18. New Braunfels Unicorns (New Braunfels, Texas); 19. Live Oak Acorns (Morgan Hill, California); 20. Lockport Porters (Lockport, Illinois)

mascot8

21.Hoopeston Area Cornjerkers (Hoopeston, Illinois); 22. Frankfort Hot Dogs (Frankfort, Indiana); 23. Watersmeet Nimrods (Watersmeet, Michigan)

mascot9

24. New Berlin Pretzels (New Berlin, Illinois); 25. Vintage Crushers (Napa, California)

mascot10

26. Yuba City Honkers (Yuba City, California); 27. Chattanooga Central Purple Pounders (Harrison, Tennessee)

But since we have to play favorites, here are the two logos we’d love to see on a hat or t-shirt or license plate cover:

meloneers

The Rocky Ford Meloneers (Rocky Ford, Colorado), submitted by johnlaf.

orphan-annies

And finally, the Centralia High School Orphans (boys teams) & Annies (girls teams), submitted by Kathleen & Tom.

Thanks to everyone for all the great suggestions. Honorable mention goes to the Arkansas School for the Deaf Leopards, which is undeniably brilliant—I just couldn’t find a good picture of the logo.

  1. In Toledo, Ohio there are the Bowsher Rebels. The mascot is Rowdy the Rebel, a confederate soldier in full uniform.

  2. Some I should have submitted from my area, but I missed the bus:

Devils Lake Satans (Devils Lake, ND)
    Oak Grove Grovers (Fargo, ND)
    Hope Hustlers (Hope, ND)
    Concordia Cobbers (Moorhead MN university)
Shanley Deacons (Catholic school in Fargo, ND)
    Hillsboro Burros (Hillsboro, ND)

It must be the water up here.

  3. The worst one from my area would be the Broadway Gobblers, Broadway VA.

  4. Go Nimrods.

  5. Some of the more colorful mascots in Arkansas include the Little Johns (Danville, AR) and the Bollweevils (University of Arkansas at Monticello).

  6. Oh my god… I went to Sol C Johnson (#17)(home of the Atomsmashers). Left there in 1975.

    recaptcha; bogie urged

  7. Galloping Ghosts! That’s awesome!

  8. Woohoo! I’m a Fisher Bunnie! (Please note the spelling error is not a spelling error when referring to our mascot…don’t ask me why.)

Glad to see we made the list.

  9. I got a great chuckle out of these. thank you! I love the atom smashers!

  10. How about the St. Louis University Billikens? I’ve lived here all my life and am still not sure what the hell it is…an albino gremlin, perhaps?

    http://www.slu.edu/pr/images/billiken06_200.jpg

  11. my high school was the yorktown corn huskers

  12. Great mascots!

Here were a few others we found a few months ago –

    The Hollywood High Sheiks
The North Carolina School of the Arts Fighting Pickles
    Speedway High School Sparkplugs

    http://www.randomruckus.com/?p=1529

  13. It’s not high school, but I’ve always wanted to know what the commentators on an Oregon State vs. South Carolina game would sound like.

“John, the Cocks are literally POUNDING the Beavers tonight…”

  14. My wife tells me that there is a small high school in Protection, Kansas that have a mascot of the Trojans! Protection Trojans? Yeah, too funny.

  15. I am from the Portland-Vancouver area, and I just knew the Papermakers(Camas,WA), and the Spudders(Ridgefield, WA) would be here. I think this list is missing the Trappers (as in fur trappers).

  16. Yay! Williamsport Millionaires! I graduated class of 1998!

The middle school I went to in Williamsport had a really weird nickname/mascot too: Andrew G. Curtin Middle School Governors. I guess they were trying to top the Millionaires for weirdness.

  17. I live in SD and the Mitchell Kernals are actually a pretty decent team… We also have the Rapic City Cobblers. That’s a good one.

  18. How about the Georgetown G-Men? Georgetown Ohio

  19. I grew up near Centralia. The team is called the Orphans because a coal mine accident killed many of the town’s men in the early 1900s. Actually, it could’ve been in the 1800s, but either way…yikes.

  20. Dude. Miss Porter’s FIGHTING DAISIES. That cannot possibly be beat.

Ok, technically an unofficial mascot, but the school’s symbol IS a daisy and any Porter’s girl will tell you that the fighting daisy is where its at.

And does it make it funnier that Avon Old Farms is an all boys boarding high school with the mascot of the winged beavers? And that they pronounce it wing-ed?

  21. You missed the Cairo (GA) Syrupmakers.

  22. not that this can compare to the nimrods, but i graduated from churchland high school as a mighty churchland trucker. our mascot was a kid in acid-washed jeans, a plaid shirt, and a giant bandana-ed trucker head (mckinley high norsemen-style).

  23. I wrestled and played football against the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts.

The high school across town were the ‘Redmen’. We had a big mural in our gym of our ‘Raiders’ attacking the Redmen, slitting their throats with axes, etc. They were made to change to the Redwings in about 1994 and the mural was painted over.

  24. I graduated from San Benito High School in Hollister, Ca.

Our mascot was a Hay Baler. As in a farmer. Who bales hay.

One of our favorite chants was “We are the Balers, the Mighty Mighty Balers!”

I wish with every fiber of my being that I was lying.

  25. how this got missed and didn’t make number one I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure that a high school in Butte, Montana goes by the pirates. That’s right, the Butte Pirates.

  26. Hahaha, my mascot is on here. The Hesston Swathers.

  27. I give you the Evergreens of D.C. Everest High School in Schofield, WI

  28. Don’t forget the Itasca Wampus Cats from Itasca, Texas. (Yes, that’s pronounced eye-tas-ka)

  29. I went to Live Oak High School…Bust a nut!!

  30. graduated from Sturgis (SD) – Scoopers. They were an early mining town and yes, the rolled out the shovel during pep rallies. I tried to google up a pic, but it seems they aren’t publicizing it too much any more. I’ll dig out an old yearbook. You gotta see it.

  31. The best thing about the Mitchell Kernals: They play in the world famous Corn Palace, which has a different mural constructed on its outside every year in ears of corn. I couldn’t tell you if they broadcast the games on KORN or not.

  32. And the Everly Cattlefeeders from Everly, Iowa:

    http://www.everlycattlefeeders.com/intro.html

  33. This article proves my point that allieration is not always the best idea.

    recaptcha: 1971 nemo

  34. My Unversity mascot were the Mules and Jennies… University of central missouri.. and the Mule was red…

  35. The Orphans definitely got my vote. it was too hilarious not to be number 1!

  36. I’ve always been a fan of the of the Cuba City Cubans from Cuba City, Wisconsin. Here’s the school website: http://www.cubacity.k12.wi.us/cchs/default.aspx.
Also, this isn’t a high school team, but the IFL, the Indoor Football League, has, quite possibly, the best sports team name ever: Omaha Beef. Check them out at http://www.beeffootball.com/. I kid you not, their mascot is Sir Loin. There’s a picture of him here: http://beeffootball.com.ismmedia.com/ISM3/std-content/repos/Top/MAIN%20NAV/GAMEDAY/Sir%20Loin/DFEW0470.JPG.

  37. Freeport, IL is also known as the Pretzels (and refers to itself as Pretzel Town, USA)

  38. Marty:
A Billiken is a good luck figure that represents “things as they ought to be”…google it, you’ll find all kinds of history on SLU’s mascot and how it came about.
I would have to say that St. Louis’s Nerix Hall’s mascot is the oddest in town: the Markers

  39. Glad to see that the hoopeston Area Cornjerkers were represented..but to be serious..EPSN had them higher (Ohio State Coach Thad Matta is an Alum) oh..and go Bunnies. I can’t believe so many of my high school conference/area teams made this list! So sad!

  40. the ‘Wonders’ of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC – my alma mater

  41. @Kay

Roncalli High School in Indianapolis, IN, is also the Rebels with a confederate soldier mascot. Except it’s a Catholic school, so the students aren’t allowed to wear any articles of clothing with confederate symbols on them. Bit of conflicting interests if you ask me.

  42. You guys forgot to mention The Hockaday School’s “Killer Daisies” from Dallas, TX. If you’d like, I can get you a photo (but be warned, they’re pretty gruesome!)

  43. Proud to be the first Kewpie in my family in a long line of Tigers!!!!!!!!!

  44. This reminds me of the Scottsdale Artichokes. The name was the result of an ugly political battle that went on for years. The students wanted money to be spent on academics, while the crazy conservative Mormons who founded the school only cared about building major football and basketball teams.

    http://www.scottsdalecc.edu/about_scc/why_the_artichoke.html

  45. I am from Morton, Illinois, and our high school mascot is the Morton Potters! The logo is a guy with a pot for a head, which obviously provoked a lot of “pot-head” jokes from opposing teams.

  46. My high school used to play Avon Old Farms in sports. Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling, NY has since changed their mascot to the Pride (a lion is the mascot) but twelve years ago we were the Blazers (like the jacket that I had to wear every day to class). No visual mascot existed but on paper we were the Blazers. A contest was started by the school newspaper to make an image of the blazer (some submissions were a drawing of said jacket, others were of a horse). None of the ideas really stuck and most students were happier not really aknowleging the mascot.

  47. There’s a school in South Webster, Ohio whose mascot is a red version of Eugene the Jeep from the Popeye comic strip

  48. I have also been to Butte County, Idaho and can confirm the Butte Pirates with a blurry picture of a placemat: http://www.flickr.com/photos/srah/205720542/in/set-72157594216141736/

My high school mascot was the River Rats, which isn’t anywhere near as bizarre as some of those listed, but still gets weird looks: http://www.aaps.k12.mi.us/huron.ath_dept/athletics_home

  49. Not a high school, but I used to live in Tiffin, OH, which has 2 colleges. One of them is Heidelberg University, home of…the Student Princes. Here’s a page explaining the history of the mascot: http://www.heidelberg.edu/athletics/historyandtradition

You should do a follow-up to this with weird college mascots. :)

    recaptcha: on extras

  50. Somehow I missed this one.
My high school was the Dearborn High Pioneers (mascot was a guy in a coon skin cap…but our colors were orange and black).
Another high school in the city was the Fordson Tractors.
The third high school in the city had to suffer with the name Edsel Ford (Dearborn, MI is the home town of Henry Ford and Ford Motor Company. Pretty much every school is named after some member of the Ford family) but at least they got the reasonable mascot of the Thunder Birds.

  51. I agree with Krie. I think a college mascot list is definitely in order. I nominate the Geoducks once again.

  52. http://www.halcyon.com/marcs/mascotdrop.html

I was going to mention my all-time favorite, the Saltville (VA) Shakers, but when I went looking for a picture, I found this site, which lists odd mascots. The Shakers changed their name over 50 years ago. Bummer!

  53. So Chunk, Mouth and Data would have been Astoria Fighting Fishermen??? Good thing they found One-eyed Willie’s treasure and saved the Goon Docks, letting them stay in Astoria1

  54. I grew up in Mattoon, IL and we were the Greenwave, as in corn. Our mascot was a bundling of cornstalks.

  55. I also think the Butte Pirates is one of the best. Here is a picture of the school sign:
    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2418/2535798332_36d7ba87e8.jpg

Maybe I missed a comment, but I can’t believe no one has mentioned the UC-Santa Cruz Banana Slugs

  56. I grew up in Kent, OH and the high school mascots were the Theodore Roosevelt Rough Riders and the girls’ teams were the Lady Riders.

  57. Idaho’s mental hospital is in the town of Orofino, home of the Maniacs.

  58. In South-Central PA, we have the Boiling Springs Bubblers

    http://www.bubblers.k12.pa.us/popup_info.cfm?pic=large18_IMG_0855.JPG&page=193458&imageid=150980

  59. I once went to a game between the Troy State Trojans vs the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. Sure enough, there was a guy holding up a big sign that said \Your Cocks can’t bust our Trojans\!

  60. Columbus (Ohio) School for Girls Unicorns.

  61. I am a proud alumnus (class of 1994) of Mesquite High School – Mesquite, TX. Our mascot? Skeeter. Yep, a mosquito. And yes, some poor schmuck was designated each year to dress as one for sporting events, etc.

  62. There are lots of “Rebels” teams around the south. Most notably, Ol’ Miss (University of Mississippi). But many high schools around there are also rebels, right down to the old Rebel colonel. So, unfortunately, Kay, not all that unique. At least not in the south.

  63. Ozark, AR Hillbillies

And Arkies wonder why we make fun of them…

  64. One must not forget the Blaine, WA Borderites!

  65. DOn’t forget the Brush High School Beetdiggers (Brush CO)

  66. Henrietta OK High School’s Fighting Hens. Can’t believe a Sooner didn’t send that one in. At one time their girls precision marching team was called The Crack Squad. Yowch!

  67. I can’t believe the Tillamook Cheesemakers hasn’t been mentioned. Hooray for the Oregon coast!

  68. The Musselman Applemen… after the applesauce producer. Wikipedia says it best in describing the mascot as “Red Delicious Apple with muscular arms and legs and an agressive facial expression”. No lie.

  69. Whoops- should have added that it’s located in Inwood, WV…

  70. I’m surprised the Shelley Idaho Russets (type of potato) didn’t come up. Also my school played against the infamous Butte Pirates.

  71. I went to Campbell County High School in Wyoming. We were the Camels. Camels are very prevelent in Wyoming wild as everyone knows.

  72. Medford High Cavemen, Medford Oregon

  73. Some favorites from Nebraska:

    Centura Centurions
    Columbus Discoverers
    Cozad Haymakers
    Fairbury Jeffs
    Gothenburg Swedes
    Holdrege Dusters
    Lexington Minutemen / Minutemaids
    Minden Whippets
    Omaha Benson Bunnies
    Ord Chanticleers
    Pender Pendragons
    Sutherland Sailors (in Nebraska!)

  74. i used to laugh everytime we played the notre dame jugglers of utica, ny

  75. The Brush Arcs in South Euclid/Lyndhurst, Ohio. Our mascot was sometimes a lightening bolt, sometimes a light bulb!

  76. I am a Lady Kaveman from Kuna High School in Kuna Idaho. The guys are Kavemen, and the girls are Lady Kavemen.

  77. GO ORPHANS!!!

  78. The Pavilion Gophers (Pavilion, NY)

  79. Randolph Union High School in Randolph, VT also has the Galloping Ghost as a mascot. No joke, I graduated from RU high in 2000!

  80. The Condor League in California has a number of interesting mascots, including:

    earwigs
    oak trees
    spuds
    toads

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condor_League

  81. How about the Jordan High Beetdiggers? Named for the students who had to leave school early to work in the Sugar Beet farming business when the school first opened in the early 1900’s? I think that name is better than the “Sugarbeets” and not just cause I went there! :o)

  82. Dickinson Midgets (Dickinson, ND)

    http://www.dickinson.k12.nd.us/dhs/images/MIDGET.gif

  83. Lewisville Fighting Farmers (Lewisville, TX) and the Beaver Dusters (Beaver, OK)

  84. IOn Southern Orego: Would you believe “The Bonanza Antlers”

  85. North East High School Grapepickers in North East, Pennsylvania, which is located in the northeast corner of Erie County, the northwestern-most county in the state.

Even Johnny Carson gave it the nod for weirdness!

  86. How about the Pomona College Sagehen or Sagecock, the fearsome desert chicken.

  87. Really enjoyed this one Jason. As a kid we went on a trip to the Oregon coast and one of the high schools near Astoria were the Fighting Fisherman.

    You can’t make that up.

    JW

  88. I am a 1970 graduate of Taylor High School in Taylor, Texas. We were the ducks. That’s right, ducks. Our archives include a drawing by Walt Disney of Donald Duck in a green and white football uniform. And the junior high were the ducklings. It seems the school had a very effective football coach in the 1920’s whose name was Drake; his teams had crucial wins for football games played in the rain. Just seven miles to the west are the Hutto Hippos.

  89. The Cobden Appleknockers almost won the Illinois State Basketball championship back in the 60’s (took 2nd). If I recall, there were only 900 people in the entire town.

  90. Forgot the Carbon High Dinosaurs (Price, Utah)

  91. I like my HS best: The Kingsford Flivvers.

  92. Okay, they’re not highschool, but their mascot is hilarious.

    “The Fighting Whites”

    http://web.archive.org/web/20050306163550/http://www.fightingwhites.org/

  93. wow…i always thought my school’s mascot was kinda odd…Central Pounders

  94. Not a High School, but still funny. Here’s the link to the logo.

    http://plone.scottsdalecc.edu/athletics/fighting-artichoke-store

  95. I think these are very creative and funny but what about the Robstown cottonpickers from robstown, tx

  96. I’ve got all those beat. My high school was the Danville Little Johns (Danville, Arkansas. Even though the other schools in Arkansas referred to us as the “toilets”, technically our mascot would have been a small french woman who dressed up as a man.

  97. Travelers Rest Devildogs only on in the country

  98. Illinois is the capital of weird mascots. Thanks for including the Orphans/Annies. A friend was an Orphan. The name came about because one time an opposing team thought their uniforms so shabby they said they looked like orphans.

Teutopolis (IL) High School Wooden Shoes
University (Champaign, IL) High School Unicorns

  99. I am authentically surprised that my High School (Website above) was not included in this posting. The school is the Yuma High School Criminals. Thanks Chris

  100. You missed over my High School. I am from Yuma, Arizona and my high school mascot is a criminal. Yes a criminal. Our school started out in the territorial prison and recently celebrated our 1oo year anniversary….check it out on the web.

  101. Its not a highschool, but in AZ, theres the Scottsdale Community College Artichokes.

  102. The Hayward High Farmers, Hayward CA. –Don Wakamatsu, Bill Walsh, Jack Del Rio…

  103. You should look into the Hutto Hippos as well. In Hutto, TX. Its so bad I refuse to tell people where I grew up because it is always followed by a joke.

  104. The Boiling Springs (PA), Bubblers has long had my vote.

  105. Ann Arbor Huron River Rats, Ann Arbor, MI

  106. A couple more high school mascots to consider:

    The Shoals Jug Rocks
    Shoals IN

    The Dubois Jeeps
    Dubois IN

  107. GO KEWPS!

  108. One more,
    The Vincennes Lincoln Alices
    Vincennes IN

  109. can’t believe you forgot the Yuma Criminals in Yuma, Arizona – Google the High School to see their logo.

  110. We played the Hoopeston Cornjerkers for Homecoming one year. We’d never even heard of them before because they were from pretty far down south. Of course, being highschoolers, the jokes on their name never ended. YOU try coming up with slogans for the Homecoming parade float. My personal suggestion “Beat Off the ‘Jerkers!!” sadly didn’t make the cut.

  111. I find it HILARIOUS that Central (Purple Pounders) made the list- I went there one year and left, now my sister’s going.
The freshman are required to wear purple polo shirts, no excuses.
For this, I shall tease my sister mercilessly XD

  112. Perhaps you could contact the ASD to see what their mascot is?
    http://www.arschoolforthedeaf.org/education/components/sectionlist/default.php?sectiondetailid=310

  113. chinook sugar beeters!? in montana, right?

  114. About Arkansas School of the Deaf…

The school has a rather modern logo. No cartoons for these folks.
    http://asdleopards.olinesports.com/

    See their merchandise page!

  115. My High School mascot was pretty unique and I frequently get teased about it even being out of high school since 2003. We were the Norwalk Truckers. Our logo was a massive semi-truck smiling at people. We also had one where the word norwalk became the “trailer” of the semi with the cab in front of the N.

  116. The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics mascot is also the Unicorn, when the school was founded in 1980, the first graduating class picked the Unicorn over the #2 choice, the fighting calculators.

  117. I lived within 20 minutes of Yuba City for 5 years. That was the new high school in the City and the Mascot is terrible.

  118. How did none of the fabulous Florida mascots make the list? My three favorites are

    Seabreeze Sandcrabs
    http://seabreezehigh.org

    Tarpon Springs Spongers
    http://tshs.pinellas.k12.fl.us

    Key West Conchs
    http://kwh.monroe.k12.fl.us/

    Go Crabs! Class of ‘96

  119. I meant “Criminals” not “Convicts”. It is still a good mascot.

  120. CONCORD MINUTEMEN (Concord, CA)

As if raging hormone teenage boys don’t get enough grief!

  121. My high school was the (generic)Patriots because it opened in 1976.

  122. Okay, if you’re going to mention the Itasca Wampus Cats then you have to mention the Conway (Arkansas) Wampus Cats because they went so far as to describe a wampus cat. It has six legs “four to run at the speed of light and two to fight with all its might”. There is a statue in the high school…our quiz bowl team posed with it and took pictures while we were there at a NAQT tourney.
    I CAN’T BELIEVE I DIDN’T THINK OF THIS EARLIER!!!
The Cave City (Arkansas) Cavemen and Cavewomen and the Harrison (Arkansas) Goblins. The funny part of that being when I saw a person wearing a Harrison shirt that read “Go Gobs”

  123. Butte, MT does have a team named the Pirates as well. However, it isn’t a school – it is an American Legion baseball team named after the Pittsburgh Pirates.

  124. Fordyce Redbugs!

    http://fordyceschools.org/

  125. Here are some from Texas

    Winters Blizzards
    Van Vandals
    Progreso Red Ants
    Hamlin Pied Pipers
    Hutto Hippos
    Crane Cranes
    Robstown Cotton Pickers

  126. Oh yea another great one from Texas

    Itasca Wompus Cats

  127. Another great one from Texas

    Itasca Wampus Cats

  128. My personal favorite is where my brother went for high school, The Charter School of Wilmington – aka the school of math and science. Their mascot? The FORCE.

They used a prism with a rainbow coming out of it and then later a lightning bolt.

  129. One of my all time favorites is
Hereford Whitefaces (TX) and Gilmer Buckeyes (TX)

  130. there is a school near me who are “the Bridgers” and yes, their mascot is a bridge.

  131. I might have graduated from the school with the lamest name ever…Gateway High in Aurora, Colorado. Home of the…Olympians. Back in ‘91-92 (the only year I attended), the dominant colors were yellow and orange…symbolic of fire.

  132. My high school in Glendale, CA was and is Glendale High Nitros ( or Dyamiters).
Our school paper is the “Explosion”

  133. The Speedway Indiana HS mascot is the Sparkplugs. And though the HS is only 4 blocks from the Indy 500 race track, and is in fact an auto sparkplug, it’s actual derivation comes from a pet mule from the man who donated his farmland for the school.

  134. The best high school mascot ever is in Poca, West Virginia. Yep, you guessed it….they are the Poca Dots! True

  135. Zizzer – West Plains, Missouri mascot. I have no idea what it is but was represented as a lightning bolt. Even better, the middle school mascot was the Whizzer.

  136. Conway (Arkansas) Wampus Cats; a 6 legged cat. “Four to run at the speed of light and two to fight with all it’s might”.

  137. What? No Grand Prairie Gophers?

Seriously – I went to high school in a small town in north Texas, and our mascot was the Grand Prairie Gopher, who was not only enormous, but bright blue.

  138. I went to Harrisonburg High in Harrisonburg, VA, where the team name was the Blue Streaks. I still have no idea what it means.

  139. What about Carrbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL), Effingham Flaming Hearts (Effingham, IL), and my favorite the Freeburg Midgets (Freeburg , IL)?

  140. I graduated from and currently coach for the infamous Sugarbeeters of Chinook High School in Chinook, MT. Glad to see it made another one of these lists.

I have another one for you out of Belfry, MT – the Belfry Bats.

  141. Unicorns- North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Carolina_School_of_Science_and_Mathematics

  142. Meade County Greenwaves. Which is exactly what it sounds like, a green wave.
    Yeah, real fierce.
    (meade county, ky)

  143. How about the Dickinson, ND Midgets. Yep, check it out.
    http://dickinsonmidgets.olinesports.com/

  144. Where are the ‘Central-annie Orphan school located? In which state? Looks a lot like the ‘Ronald Mcdonald’ chumps’
