More Creative Death Solutions: Cremation Solutions is offering this lovely option, which involves constructing an urn made to look like you from a photograph. For $2,600, you get the full size. A keepsake size costs $600. Be warned: it does not come with hair! (as if that’s the most worrisome thing about this scenario).

I think it’s good for the mind to take this 50 States Quiz every so often. I never miss the same state twice! The M states always hang me up. Any good scores out there for those who got all 50?

I got all 50 states in the quiz but that’s because we had to sing the Fifty Nifty song in elementary school. Once you have that memorized, you will never forget them all.

Haha, I got them all doing the “fifty Nifty” too, but still forgot a few and had to have the fiancee’s help. We got it with 6:07 left, which I don’t feel is very good.

I did the same thing in elementary school, but it took me longer than it should have because I forgot New Jersey until I reread what I’d put down

I forgot those 12: Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska,
Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon,
South Dakota, Wisconsin
But then again, I’m from Germany – who can tell me all the Bundesländer from Germany? !

Took me until 8 minutes to get 49, and then 6:50 to get the one I missed: Ohio.

I got all 50 with 7:14 left on the clock.

It’s the spelling that always kills me. I can’t spell to save my life. Mass always gets me, every time.

I got them all with 7:07, but I had to go geographically, by looking at the map in my head. I spent probably 45 seconds re-working the whole map over and over again, wondering what the one missing state could be, before I finally realized it was Hawaii.

I got them all with 6 minutes left. I also had to do the mental map, because that song wasn’t yet written when I was in school!

Fifty Nifty United States from thirteen original colonies! Yeah, sorry Oklahomians, I miss your state until about 2 minutes later at the 6:00 mark.

Fifty Nifty strikes again! I got them all with seven minutes remaining, but that’s because I can never spell Pennsylvania right on the first (second, third, or fourth) go.

Everyone knows this Nifty Fifty song! I never learned it. I know kids who know the capitals as well – that’s so beyond my ability to memorize.
This quiz has actually helped immensely with my spelling of state names – I no longer fear Massachusetts or Connecticut!
I’ve forgotten New Hampshire, Utah, Nebraska, Minnesota and Pennsylvania (!!) at one time or another. I try to be methodical but it never works out quite right, hah.
