twitter-big-day

It’s a weird world we’re living in. Can’t believe I’m typing the following sentence: Thanks to Alyssa Milano & John Green for talking us up on Twitter!

  1. that’s awesome! me thinks we need a post to explain the amazing concept of FOLLOWFRIDAY to the uninformed.

  2. Our strategy of World Domination Via Twitter is well underway. Exxxxxcellent.

  3. I agree with David. Some of the concepts are quite new to me, and the Twitter Help pages aren’t what i would call user friendly.

  4. Awesome! I do be lovin’ me some A. Milano!

  5. Congratulations. Mental Floss certainly has a great following.

  6. Wonderful! Now who the heck is John Green? And who can give me a 1-minute Twitter lesson?

  7. I can give you a 30 second one, MrsPurrbottom:

Go to http://www.twitter.com, create an account, add a mobile phone number. They’ll send you a text message to verify your phone information that you need to reply to.

Once you do that, you can start receiving tweets via text message by searching for people or organizations to follow. Or you can view them on your homepage at any time like a newsfeed.

If you want to reply to someone @, or if you want to tweet about a trend, use the # sign before the name.

Tweets are limited to 120 characters in length, including spaces.

Hope that answered your basic questions!

  8. John Green is an author and one half of the Vlogbrothers, who became quite popular on YouTube during 2007 and beyond. He and his brother Hank, along with their fans, are now collectively known as Nerdfighters, and the Nerdfigher community can be found at http://nerdfighters.ning.com

  9. Thank you Ally and Martin! Yes, the Tweeter lesson is great and I understand who JG is now. I really don’t live in a cave! But, need the simple things in life explained sometimes.
    Thanks again!
    Mrs. Purrbottom
