Thanks for taking a crack at the Brain Game. Today, we ask you for a simple five-letter word. What could be easier than that? Good luck!
Several words contain shorter words “hidden” in the consecutive letters inside them. In the word RANTS, for instance, you can find RAN, AN, ANT, and ANTS. With this in mind:
What five-letter word contains four different personal pronouns
hidden within in its consecutive letters?
What about YOURS? It contains YOU, YOUR, YOURS, OUR, and OURS.

I’m stretching this here, but ‘sheit’ may be used. It’s been known to be a Proper name. I’m going to start the movement (so I can add to this contest) that sheit can be short for sheitel, a cloth worn by orthodox jewish married women as to cover their hair for only their husbands to ever see.
With that said, She, He, I, It.

yeah…..i got the SHER part, but couldn’t come up with the U on the front. I came up with SHERS, but I guess that’s not a word.

Came up with usher, but the proper name Sheri also works – she, he, her, and I.

I started out with ‘shers’ too, but since that on its own is not a word, I moved on to ‘YOURS’ :)

I’m with Diana, but I came up with Shire –
She, He, Her, I
And if you allow possessive form,
His, Hers
Giving a total of 6 out of a 5 letter word.

Nice one, Lugh!
And Diana and Ellen, you’ve got the right idea, but the letters in your pronouns aren’t consecutive (“hers” uses the 2nd, 5th, 4th and 1st letters in “shire”). Still, nice job! And the point of all this, as always, is to get the noggin in high gear. You both certainly did that.

Diana is right, Sheri works her words are consecutive. Ellen, however, is off track. Hers are not consecutive.

Nice try with Shire but the pronouns need to be consecutive letters according to the instructions.

I’m with Lugh, “YOURS” seems to be the winner with 5.

Not to be a buzzkill, but with YOURS, according to the rules, would the pronoun ‘yours’ count, since it is the word itself, and not a different pronoun within it? With that said, the other four are still very correct.
ok, strike me down with stones please lol. Blasted technicalities!

I came up with USHER and I’m pretty darn proud of myself for getting it.

I got “timesheet”, with I, Me, she, he. Could be a cheap one, but hey it works.

Sorry for the double post. I guess I REALLY wanted this one.

I thought of HEIRS, too. Becky, you forgot that it also includes SHE, so that makes six combinations.

I came up with usher and immediately thought it was wrong. I got the “sher” part, then added the U and completely overlooked the “us”, thinking I was cheating by using “U” (you) as a personal pronoun.

ok i see I didn’t follow directions,in a backward way, used a personal pronoun to get 4 consec words, not a word to get 4 consec peronal pronouns…I’ll keep thinking : (

I’m sorry but according to the directions, YOURS does not count. yours, our, ours are all possesive pronouns. But still good.
