Details Magazine ranks the best 25 fast food items in America. Even though I’ve never had one, I guessed their pick for #1.

The 100 Most Iconic TV Show Intros Of All Time. Scroll through to find your favorites, or skip to the top ten (like I did).

Before you see District 9 (which opens today), take a look at the 2005 short film that introduced us to Neill Blomkamp and his aliens, Alive in Joburg. Marrying political points with science fiction is not new, but it’s been a while since it was done this well.

The Ukraine’s Got Talent TV show competition was won by Kseniya Simonova, who is a sand artist. She gives an amazing performance, but would this art even make it past the auditions in the US?

Man And His Dog. A collection of photos guaranteed to make you go “Aww”. (via the Presurfer)

8 Awesome Video Game Quilts. It seems anachronistic at first glance, but 8-bit pixelated arcade game icons lend themselves well to the design of patchwork quilts.

  1. bahhhh- Five Guys>In-N-Out

  2. I have an idea for getting the male demographic to offer more support towards cancer research (well, at least breast cancer).

Everyone knows about the pink ribbon, and a growing number of people are getting the more humorous “Save the ta-ta’s” stickers for their vehicles. For men, all you need to do is make a sticker with the pink ribbon that says “Men love ‘em too” and I bet there will be more money flowing into cancer treatment and research. (I’d buy one)

  3. I so want that Galaga quilt.

  4. Another amazing thing about the sand artist is that she’s giving half of her winnings to a family whose nine month old has been in coma even though she’s never met them. That is extraordinary.

  5. The “Best 25 Fast Food Items” made me so happy ~ specifically the mention of Culver’s Cheese Curds. As a Wisconsin girl through and through nothing warms my heart more than real Wisconsin cheddar cheese, deep fried to unbalance the slight healthiness of the calcium in the cheese, served with a (Cheese)Butter Burger and if I am feeling ambitious, a sundae. . .

Makes me wonder why I gain weight whenever I am back in Wisconsin. . .ha

  6. Five Guys FTW!

  7. I’m so lucky I live in las vegas and get to eat all the double doubles I want!

  8. LOVE in-n-out Burgers. These days I suffice with Culver’s butter burgers and Five Guys, but without the fresh cut fries, it’s just not the same meal.

2×4 means 2 patties and 4 slices of cheese right? I think the Double Double is cheese enough. It’s great that you can get the burgers in any combo, even 50×50(!)

  9. I did not realize that I still knew the theme song to 3-2-1 Contact.

  10. “A collection of photo…?”

  11. I really want to see District 9. I can’t watch the video here at work. I’ll have to do it at home.

Speaking of sci-fi (not SyFy, that’s just silly) with a not-in-your-face political or social theme, The Alien Nation TV show was an excellent show. It spoke a lot to racial stereotypes and prejudices, but you didn’t realize it while you were watching it. It was only after you really thought about it did you get the message. I was very sorry when it got cancelled.

  12. I used to watch 3-2-1 Contact all the time. They have revamped and brought back The Electric Company but I wish it had been 3-2-1 Contact instead. Even at 10 or so I was obviously a science geek, sigh.

    Love the sand artist… mesmerizing.

reCaptcha… lactated on (I don’t want to know the details!!!)

  13. 5 Guys is really good, but runs second to In n Out IMHO. But maybe that’s because I can eat 5 Guys anytime I want here on the east coast, and In n Out is only for when I get that far.

  14. Sand artist was amazing!!

    Love Sonic Tots!

I liked the top 100 TV themes, but was disappointed that Dobie Gillis didn’t make the cut.

“Doooobieeee wants a gal that’s dreamy”

  15. The first picture of “Man and his dog” looks like one of our male Chihuhuas puppies! He sired several litters, and there was always one that looked just like him! I even think the pup is a RatChihuahua! (Rat Terrier-Chihuahua mix).

  16. Chipotle didn’t make the fast food list? List fail.
