Wow. I thought Volvos from the ’80s were safe vehicles, but check out the unbelievably minor damage this school bus took when a Hummer careened into it. Luckily, the driver of the wrecked vehicle was rushed to a hospital. As for the bus, there were no kids on board, and the driver seems to be doing fine. Makes you wonder, though, if this is the sort of hurt a Hummer takes when it runs into something, perhaps more rappers need to start pimping out school buses. IndyStar photo and story via Ettf.
Hummers are so effing ugly, they all deserve to be bashed to hell. Or set on FIRE!

The civilian humvees bear no comparison to the millitary vehicle. It’s a completely different beast sold under the same name for marketing reasons. The destruction of the front of the car, and that’s all it is, is perfectly deliberate. It’s a crumple zone which absorbs the impact and so protects the passengers. All cars are designed to do this and the commercial ‘hummer’ is just a glorified car.

re: Joanne Mullen
The front-end destruction seems to include most of the driver and front passenger areas… that’s a rather “generous” crumple zone.
I’d love someone to pull Hummers out of production and off the road for whatever reason, but safety oughtta do it.

Hahaha… This is really really interesting. I’m just curious as to how anyone can survive or will have anything left of their bodies after such impact. I mean, look at how crushed the car is. I can’t imagine the human body. Argh. Never mind. Thanks for sharing.

Now see, they dont tell you how fast the hummer goes. Eveb=n though i love hummers, im not just sticking up for them. i admit they get horrible gasmiledge. but the army relies on them and we rely on them for luxury and fun. so give em some slack

It’s not a Hummer. It’s a riced up GMC Colorado. A Colorado or a Tahoe is a lot cooler than these toys. GM is killing Hummer by slashing the H1 and making these lame boxes.

u know dis h2 humvee in specific is one of the weakest humvees ever.they shuld try doing the same thing in an h1 humvee and ull see wat happens.the h2 humvee is made for luxury and style and class only.
