		<description>first of all, I have Hereditary Coproporphyria, and you are mistaken about two important things in yur essay. Number one--garlic does affect porphyria. So do onions, broccoli and other high sulfur foods. I cannot tolerate garlic at all, but many of my Porphy friends can. It all depends on what else your body is coping with at the time. Number two--while many Porph patients grit their teeth at the vampire allusions and try to live it down, some Heme DOES get utilized by eating blood. Not enough to be truly effective, however it is my personal experience that I tend to crave things my body needs, and Porphyria is a metabolic disease that messes with how my body makes, stores and uses heme iron.</description>
