I’ve had a lot of fun with a generator that marries random Twitter updates with the graphics from Dinosaur Comics. Refresh often for more surrealism. (via Metafilter)

5 Artistic Rivalries That Got Ugly. If you can’t beat them, smear them with gossip and innuendo. Or sue them.
Speaking as a middle liberal (starting to lean more and more to the side though), the main thing i’ve noticed is that people fear the unknown. They’ll cling on to the same process regardless of its effectiveness because it’s what they’re used to. It’s like a golfer with a bad hook. The solution is the swing, but I’ve seen people try to solve it through different clubs and balls. They’re comfortable with their swing and don’t want to change it. Our healthcare system, to me, is like the swing. They need to break from their comfort zones and see what a new swing will do to the ball’s flight. People need to learn that times change things, and you need to adapt to the swing of things in order to keep things functioning properly. If we don’t, we’re going to be in the rough and behind a par performance all day.

I see your point. But sometimes when a golfer changes his swing and tries something new he pulls his back out, or blows out his knee. Catch my drift?

Thanks for the “First Week of College” link! That has some pretty good tips. It’s nice to have my thoughts reaffirmed sometimes.
And the Dinosaur Comics generator is extremely hilarious, if a little terrifying.
