2. There are plenty of creative minds struggling to get their ideas out there. Studios shrug off fresh new stories because they think the general movie-going public is comprised predominantly of drooling morons who only respond to cliched jokes and tired, familiar ideas, which is why everything is a remake or a comic book. I don’t know, are they right? This could tie in with #3, maybe.

3. For some reason, people who try to sing along with songs when they don’t know all the words annoy me. They end up mumbling and looking awkward. Don’t sing if you don’t know the words!! I don’t know why this bugs me so much!!

4. I haven’t pushed the envelope too much, mostly I only go to Mental Floss and check my email, so I’m not sure what’s blocked.

4. Nothing I’ve come across is blocked really, but my super huge, Fortune 500 workplace refuses to upgrage from IE6, therefore severely limiting my surfing abilities. It gets worse everyday and I pitch a fit a least once a week over their stubborn refusal.

1. Mine was from the week of July 31, 1978. the cover story was a tweak of the Michaelangelo painting of God and Adam’s hand with a test tube in the middle. It was the week of the birth of the first test tube baby (it wasn’t me.)
2. A remake of Goonies would piss me off. Or the Breakfast Club. I can just see someone trying to make those “relevant” for a new era of teens.

#2 I woeld have to say that there are WAY too many versions of A Christmas Carol and I think that there are only a few worth watching

#3 Rude Customers that literally throw the money across the sales counter at you really irks me.

1. God and the Bomb: Catholic Bishops debate nuclear morality (funnily enough I was raised Catholic). But my fav is the little flap in the corner: “The Andropov Era begins” – what an era that was!

2. The only one that sprang to mind was Clockwork Orange, although I suppose at least they could restore Burgess’s original ending

3. Lately it drove me nuts that co-workers were taking tissues from the box on my desk without asking – almost reached breaking point when I got to work (ironically after being off sick with a cold) and the box was sitting there empty. Then a friend referred me to passiveagressivenotes.com (URL is off the top of my head, may bear only fleeting resemblance to reality) and I realised I’m not alone!

4. I think, being in a library, we get to look at everything – information wants to be free, remember?

1. Mine was called “Holy Alliance: How Reagan and the Pope conspired to assist Poland’s solidarity movement and hasten the demise of Communism” which I actually find amusing… I don’t know what they’re talking about but I’ve got this picture in my head of Pope Ratsinger in his funny hat, red shoes, and sunglasses (so he wouldn’t be recognized by ze Russians, obviously) :)

2. Oh lord there’s so many… I heard they were remaking Footloose with Zac Efron and I about blew a gasket, then I have to second Princess Bride, The Godfather, and Labyrinth, along with all the Jimmy Stewerts… And I think I would kill someone if they touched any Audrey Hepburn movie with a nine foot tripod. Like that picture with Paris Hilton dressed as Holly Golightly! Wanted to kill something.

3. I get irritated easily (as you may have noticed) but what I really hate is when people assume they’re smarter than you and they can’t hold their position. And I hate weenies who hate it when you make an argument personal. XD

4. There’s this great site for Edvard Munch that I can’t get to because it’s porn, apparently. I TOTALLY get turned on looking at 19th century impressionism.

1. The Untold Story of Pan Am 103. I was expecting something about Clinton, but I was a week off. Oh well. :)
2. Don’t watch enough movies…
3. When people walk really slow in front of you and you’re in a hurry. Or when you’re carrying lots of stuff and there’s someone with nothing in their hands who doesn’t hold the door open for you.
4. Some Yahoo articles, like half the Mental_Floss links (sad!). And you can’t google Emily Dickinson. Or Charles Dickens.

1. “Starting Over: Gorbachev turns his back on Lenin,” from the Feb. 19, 1990 issue.
2. Probably the remaking of Fight Club would anger me the most. Although I might just be saying that because I watched it last night. But there aren’t too many movies that are equal in caliber to their book counterparts, and Fight Club really hits the target in that respect.

2. Let the Right One In. It’s one of the best vampire movies in a while, alas, they are making a remake that will be released next year. The sad part is Let the Right One In came out late last year.

1. No matter how much things change, they still stay the same – Middle East in Turmoil is the cover.

2. Deliverance, it wasn’t that good the first time and is only famous for dueling banjos and making Ned Beatty squeal like a pig.

3. People with a victim complex. They feel you owe them something because of some imaginary reason. No, you didn’t get the job because society has wronged you, it’s because you’ve had 10 jobs in the last 10 years and your reason for leaving these jobs was being “persacuted” by your boss. Learn to use spell-check and grow up!

4. Anything. We only have access to company websites, you can’t even do a google search! Want to send something to your personal e-mail from work? Not an option.
