Elvis has left the Health Food Aisle

elvis_2.jpgAnyone who’s toured Graceland knows that Elvis the Pelvis loved downing fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches by the fistful. But who knew that the King’s snack-time fare would inspire the likes of Hershey’s? According to AdFreak (my source for all things chocolate-y), the Reese’s brand is launching a limited-edition tribute to the rock-n-roller in the form of Elvis Cups—filled with peanut butter and banana cream filled goodness. Sounds like a nice twist on the old man’s recipe, though I’m still curious how they’re going to get all that deep-fried flavor into those tiny chocolate cups.

  1. Oh, if this isn’t just appalling, I don’t know what is! The thing is, the primary buyers are going to be those in age ranges where a snack like this could put them over the edge, or at least into cardiac arrest. ICK!

  2. If you’ve never tried PB and banana – don’t knock it! I don’t subscribe to the fired version – but there is no breakfast better than PB and banana – on toast or wrapped in a tortilla!!

  3. Yum, I wish we could get Reese’s in Australia; it’s one of the things I miss most about living in the US.
