Looking at Sept.-Oct 2010 Meet the Beatles covers, ABBEY ROAD, You printed that Harrison was in black and Starr in jeans. It is incorrect, Starr is in black and Harrison is in jeans.

I’ve heard that the altered copies of Yesterday and Tomorrow with the stickers still on are now selling for more than the butcher covers. This is because everyone tried to remove the sticker and either damaging it or selling it if they were successful. This has meant that there are now few left with the stickers intact.

My high school BFF and I steamed off the Yesterday and Today album cover, and the butcher cover was indeed underneath it. It’s been lost to history now, too bad. We knew it would be a collector’s item, but we had no idea it’d be work thousands. We figured it would be reprinted by now.

Also, I’ve been schooled: I didn’t know it was Phil Spector that was responsible for the over-the-top sound of The Long and Winding Road. I thought that was George Martin’s fault.

Let it Be was always my least favorite album. Sure there were a handful of songs that I loved, but overall I hated the “feeling” of that album.
Then it was rereleased as “Let it Be..Naked” and it’s soooo much more better.

Phil Spector really took a wazz all over it. I’m glad it was redone.

I believe the “Butcher Cover” on Yesterday and Today was a reflection of the dead baby jokes that were making the rounds at the time. They made another comeback ten years later, and I know several, but none I would include here.

Well, I was pretty proud when I saw I knew 4, 5 and 6 but apparently most of the commenters knew more than that.

I’ve watched the first few parts of Anthology and it says that Stu was not that good a player–in fact he had to play with his back to the audience just in case one was to take a picture so that they wouldn’t know he was playing the wrong notes.

According to Pete Best, Stuart Suttcliffe was a good bass player. Before you say “consider the source”, remember that Pete is on ten tracks on the Anthology series. Hear it for your self. He was a good drummer and he was the ladies favorite Beatle while he was with the group. That probably caused more trouble with the others.

I know I’m leaving myself wide open,but really,I have to say I don’t see the mystique of the Beatles.Before I get raged on,I’d just like to say,I’m not saying they’re a bad band,I just don’t really find them that amazing.Sorry guys!Interesting article however,for a non-Beatles fan ;)

Oh man I’ve gorged on Beatles for the last 9 days. VH1, bless their hearts…. I’ve been wanting to see ‘HELP’ and ‘A Hard Days Night’ again for a few years, now. I’ve seen each one twice, plus different concerts, and ‘The Making of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band’….
