On the last point, according to the book “Me and Ted Against the World: The Unauthorized Story of the Founding of CNN” supposedly a tape was made shortly after the launch of CNN and is locked away, intended to be played when the world appears to be coming to an end. It includes a brief statement by Ted Turner and a band playing “Nearer My God to Thee” over an image of a waving flag.
