That was fun & easy – didn’t need a grid. I didn’t realize they were in the same order until I saw the comments!

Summer Squash is a technically a fruit also so that would have the same result. (So are avocados, eggplants, tomatoes, etc.)

Doesn’t matter though since we tend to think of both as veggies!

Botanically, you’re right, corn is not a vegetable. But the public certainly includes it in that group, as would the produce section of a supermarket.

if “summer squash” was used instead of the controversial corn, the puzzle would have laid out more neatly. corn is more popularly known as a vegetable, but by the botanical definition it is a fruit. since this is a trivia site the distinction should have been made.
