The Yahoo! Sports Web page have been hacked yesterday, since one of the scores read “Lions 19, Redskins 14.” Since the Detroit NFL franchise hadn’t won a regular-season game since 2007, I knew something was amiss. I quickly closed my browser and turned off my computer for fear of viruses. I risked restarting it only to key in today’s Brain Game, so I hope you enjoy it. Good luck!

By removing one letter and rearranging the others (if necessary) to form a new word on each line, reduce the word SUBMITTERS down to the letter U:

    Does subtier count? Sub is a prefix and is used with out a hyphen, right?

  4. Graham, with “resubmits” added between your first and second word, I’d definitely count it. “Subtier” can be hyphenated but I wouldn’t say that it HAS to be.

    And, as always, the key is just to use your brain and solve it to your own satisfaction. As long as you’ve done that, great!
