For those of you who don’t know Annie Leibovitz, she’s the rock star of photographers. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that a majority of her subjects are rock stars. Even if you don’t recognize her name though, you’re probably at least a little familiar with her works, particularly the famous image of John Lennon kissing Yoko Ono.
I’m a big fan of Annie’s works, which is why I was so excited to find out she did a full re-imagining of some of Disney’s greatest movies to advertise the parks. On top of utilizing a great photographer, each image also is unique in that it has an unexpected collection of celebrities, like the one above with Gisele Bündchen (Wendy), Tina Fey (Tinkerbell) and Mihkail Baryshnikov (Peter Pan). The results are truly stunning.
Can I just voice my strong support for the casting of Oliver Platt as the Mad Hatter? Ye Gods that would be awesome. I would prefer Crispin Glover as the March Hare, but Lovett works in a pinch.

Cool Pics, but I really hate Disney and everything they represent.

“I really hate Disney and everything they represent.”
Little harsh there, aren’t we? You mean out of everything Disney — the movies, the parks, the TV productions, etc. — there’s absolutely *nothing* you like or can at least tolerate?
Last time I looked, Disney was an entertainment conglomerate, not a political party or government agency dedicated to altering our way of life. They’ve just gotten good at what they do, much like Walmart, or Starbucks, or MacDonalds.

I’m a big fan of Disney (but please don’t compare them to Wal Mart, Starschmucks or Mcdonalds!) They are a gay-friendly company and it was all started by one man who wanted a place where families could go and have fun together. So, Moviebuff, if you hate that, not sure what to say to that.
The pictures are interesting, but some of the celebrity choices are so far off the mark, it’s jarring.
