I’m still fond of my own personal slogan while running for class president in middle school. “Don’t be a Dum Dum, vote for Greg!” I gave out Dum Dum suckers to everyone with the slogan attached to each one, but sadly I didn’t win, although it was a close race.

I actually had an “AuH2O” sticker on my car, as well as “allons avec l’eau dor”. By the way, the popular vote in 1852 was not a landslide. General Winfield Scott, the Whig nominee, was within about 4 points of Pierce’s popular vote total.
