One of the more popular mental_floss quizzes asks you to name all the Presidents of the United States. But what about the runners-up? Can you name all 25 men who finished second in U.S. Presidential Elections dating back to 1900?

  1. I totally missed on FDR’s losers (except the one he replaced) for some reason took forever on Bush 41′s opponent.

  2. I remember having a competition with my 10th grade history teacher to see who could name more presidential losers since 1900. I narrowly beat him by two candidates.

  3. Got 20 out of 25, and there were some I knew that I missed but blanked on.

Does anyone else try this method – I started with the most recent and just went backwards chronologically. It’s pretty effective and I made it to FDR’s 1940 opponent before stumbling, but somehow I totally skipped Bush 41′s opponent.
