Brain Game: Numb Numbers

It seems like whenever I’ve done a number sequence for the Brain Game, you all-too-bright readers have managed to find alternate answers that fit in with the pattern. And while I’m all for that keen type of thinking, today’s sequence should be long enough to avoid that. Let’s find out:

What’s the next number in the series below?

3, 7, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 25, 30, ?

Here is the SOLUTION.

  1. Of course.. how could I have missed that

  2. Nice one :) I would never have guessed Roman numerals.

  3. In finding patterns (other than yours, yours are usually non numeric based) I look at the difference in the numbers. in this case 4,5,2,2,3,3,4,5, so logically the next would be 32. Not what you were looking for I know.
Sorry I had to find another pattern there.

  4. Yeah, that is the answer I got as well KevinGA, Glad to know I wasn’t the only one.

  5. I try that first too, Kevin (even though I know that’s seldom the direction in which Sandy goes), but I’m not quite clear on what the “pattern” is that you’re seeing.

    Are you suggesting 4,5,2,2,3,3,4,5,2,2,3,3,4,5,2,2,….?

  6. KevinGA: 19 plus 3 would be 22. I came up with the same answer you got, but the pattern should be:

    4, 5, 2, 2, 3, 2, 4, 5, 2, 2, 3, 2…

  7. Ya, I got the same pattern too, sorry Sandy:)
