Max Hirschberg rode a bike for two months to get to Nome, Alaska to join the Klondike gold rush in 1900. And you think you have a difficult commute. (via Metafiter)

  1. The Verizon video is great! I can just imagine what my brother would do if they followed him around… not pretty. He works for the section within Qwest that deals with Verizon customers so I’m sure he would have PLENTY to say!

  2. If you’re ever in Seattle, there is a great (and free) museum about the Klondike gold rush that’s worth going to.

  3. Did Roman Polanski really ever go to prison? Or did he just flee the country. I mean he drugged and raped a 13 year old…that should count for some major prison time. It’s totally disgusting.

  4. I think Mr. Polanski fled the country before he was sentenced…which is why he’s never set foot back here in the U.S. If he does, he’ll be arrested and thrown into jail.
