After we posted a quiz on time zones in June, reader Adam Harris wrote in to ask if we could do something similar with area codes. Yes we can! Which city is covered (at least in part) by each area code?

Take the Quiz: Area Codes

  1. This one was right up my alley. I just finished a mindless temp job at a big company where I was collecting contact info for hundreds of sales reps across the country. I would put my useless knowledge of area codes up against anyone!

  2. HAHAHA! 302 could have been ANYWHERE! (I should know. My phone number begins with 302)

    Thanks for the mention!

  3. Should have gone with 321 – given to the Cape Canaveral area for it’s relationship to shuttle/rocket launch countdowns, 3-2-1….

  4. 8/12. Fun quiz!
I never thought my caller ID+endless sales calls=nifty trivia knowledge.

Also, I’ve lived in three of those cities.

  5. Hmmm…. I wonder WHY that first one was in there?

We used to be 919 too, but for quite some time we’ve been 336
