Hey, how’d he do that?

Film director Michel Gondry sports a well-earned reputation for being a cinematic trickster, as well as a lover of puzzles and games. Watch this video, simply entitled “Michel Gondry solves a Rubik’s Cube with his feet,” and tell us what you think: is he solving a puzzle, or creating one for us to solve?

  1. I suspect he started with a solved cube, “unsolved” it with his feet, and then played the sequence in reverse to make it look like he solved it with his feet.

  2. There is another video on YouTube that explains how he did it. Yes he UNSOLVED it and then played the sequence in reverse. However, I find it facinating the effort he put into making it seem real, for example the person who walks through the background had to walk backwards during filming.

  3. Michel Gondry’s a genius… thanks for posting!
