There seem to be a higher number of vanity plates in Virginia (or maybe it is just the higher volume of traffic than other places I have lived) so we get to exercise our brains on most commutes. My favorite (probably because it would be my plate if I chose one) is easy to get, but makes its point very well…
I read an article a couple of years ago that said Illinois has the most personalized plates….I can’t remember if it was total or highest percentage….probably percentage.
Hmm. I prefer to interpret it by sound rather than by spelling, so I got “honest human.”
ThinkGeek had a number of tweets a few weeks back of great geeky plates. A good friend of mine has a mustang with the plate PWNY. Another friend has what I, personally, consider to be the Best Plate Ever: ROWXCOL. On a Toyota Matrix, naturally.
Nebraska plates have a group of 3 letters followed by a group of 3 numbers. I really want to get a vanity plate that says “OBI 001″ but can’t justify the extra money to my wife.
@ Hyacinth – you’re right, VA does have one of the highest number of vanity plates in the country. Partially because it’s cheap (about $10 a year). I HATE sitting in traffic everyday and reading the plates keeps me entertained (one of my favorites was “66suks”)
In that line, my plate is solely for the amusement of others: U R YY
It describes you if you figure it out ;) I expect most flossers can, but I’m asked what it means every time I get an oil change!

My plate is 2BLAIVE.

Yep, Lugh, most plates do use the phonic version of the numbers instead of the spelled versions like this one.
Our plate, not surprisingly, reads “TRIVIA.” :)

I was thinking the driver was the apostle Peter.
His number two man
His with the one signifying that the his is the one, Jesus…
maybe I just think to hard and just got out of religion class…

I too thought the answer was honest man and then thought that the car would have its headlights on during the day looking for Diogenes.

I once received valet parking free of charge at a casino in Indiana. My plate? JOMNTNA. Notre Dame football fans really love their quarterbacks.
