I learned about it from an article on CBS Sunday Morning. After Bill Graham (birth name: Wolfgang) died, his heirs sold his assets. Some years later, the owners decided to sell off some of these. They sold an old warehouse in San Francisco sight unseen for something like $6 million. The new owner found audio tapes for thousands of concerts, lots of videos, t-shirts and t-shirt designs, posters, original photos and lots of other materials. He founded Wolfgang's Vault to share his fortuitous discovery. Originally, the media player played random cuts from concerts. They later converted to the current format of playing concerts.
