Well, if you want to be technically, Bill Clinton was the only President to be a 3rd.

His birth name was William Jefferson Blythe III. His father, Bill Blythe, Jr., died in an auto accident three months after his son was born. Four years later, his mother married Roger Clinton and a decade after that, Bill Blythe III legally changed his name to Bill Clinton.

I sort of guessed on this one and looked them up to be sure.

Same goes for John Q Adams. The middle name differentiates them.

This was a good one. I was confused because I knew that Gerald Ford was originally name Leslie King, Jr. , but I didn’t realize he was a junior as Ford as well.

I believe it has to be completely the same, so George HW and George W are not senior and junior. My husband has the first name as his dad, but not middle. He is not a jr. I have seen some people use II, rather than jr., but I think technically, they would be a jr.

As much as I hate him, doesn’t George Bush count? His dad had the same first and last name and one of the same middle names. Do all the names have to be the same to be junior or does the title have to be given by the parents?
