The family that sticks together …
by Ransom Riggs - February 8, 2007 - 5:10 PM

magnet.jpg… sticks to metal objects? Such is the case with a unique family in Taiwan, who are literally magnetic. They can press forks, spoons and metal ashtrays to their bodies, and they won’t fall off. The family’s patriarch can even suspend a six-pound iron from his chest, without the aid of glue, invisible wires or other kinds of trickery. The strangest thing is that they don’t seem to emit a magnetic field; scientists in Taipei are baffled. Watch this video to see their powers at work!

  1. Was this posted on the MAGNeat-o-rama site?

  2. This isn’t much more bizarre than sticking a coin to your forehead. A little talcum powder or hair would prevent both. The Amazing Randi has had a post about this sort of phenomenon at

  3. Oddity, but i’d rather wonder if they could turn metal to gold by touching or likewise.
