If you’ve tried our Math Square challenges, here’s something new to the Brain Game that you might also enjoy: a number block puzzle.

Each of the nine squares inside the main red grid should contain either a 1, 2, or 3. Three of these numbers are already provided for you. Place the number 1, 2, or 3 in each of the blank squares so that the sum of the rows, columns, and diagonals equal the totals shown at the ends of those lines (at the equal signs). Good luck!

  1. i got it but it was wrong. i couldn’t see the 9 smaller squares!

  2. OOPA, my bad… copied the given’s wrong

  3. My dad excels at these puzzles (any number between 1-9), so I’m glad this was restricted to numbers between 1-3….I feel like I’m on his level, even for a day!

  4. no problems here…..the 12 and 5 in the corners made it easy

  5. I got it today.

  6. 12 and 5 really made this a breeze!

  7. loved this!

  8. I agree, the 5 and 12 (and 11) made this one go quick!

  9. This was a good one! More please!!

  10. I love the math squares. This was a nice twist on that.. The diagonal numbers defiantly made this one go quick.

  11. Gotta agree with you, Melissa – those diagonals were certainly defiant! ;)

But seriously, I’m a major Sudoku fan, so I love this kind of thing.

  12. The 12 made it kind of easy, but I really liked this style of puzzle. You’re on to something. I assume it would be harder if you added one more possible number for each square (i.e. 1,2,3, or 4). Maybe there would just be too many options that way.

  13. That was fun, I didnt really have any problems solving it! Please do more of these!
