The Animaniacs was always more than just a great cartoon. It provided some useful learning tools—Wakko singing the 50 states and their capitals certainly helped me on a few geography tests. How well do you remember the Animaniacs’ great songs?

  1. One problem: “Little Old Lady from Pasadena” is a Jan and Dean song, not Beach Boys.

  2. The Beach Boys at least did a cover then…we had it on cassette as kids.

  3. I looooved the Animaniacs. If I weren’t a broke college student I’d've bought the series on DVD a long time ago.

  4. Aw, was I the only one that the links to the videos wouldn’t work for??? I was excited to watch them then they didn’t work.

  5. Loved this quiz! I had bought the Animaniacs sound track CD as a kid and found it when cleaning my room a couple of years ago and now it’s on my ipod. I must admit I haven’t listened to it though, but at least its digitally preserved! And I also to this day use the 50 states song when thinking about the capitals!

  6. Little Old Lady from Pasadena = Jan and Dean

  7. I can’t find that DVD.

  8. I have the first two seasons on DVD – but I haven’t watched them all. Hence, the 50% I scored on the quiz!

  9. Aaaaaand….now I can’t get the songs out of my head. Thank you Mentalfloss…

United States, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Haiti, Jamaica, Peru….

  10. Not only is Little Old Lady from Pasadena a Jan and Dean song, the star of the music video was not Slappy but his grandmother, who played the role of the titular little old lady. I actually thought that one was a trick question due to those two errors, so I guessed something else.

  11. was the grandson; Slappy was the grandmother. And the Beach Boys did a cover version of “Little Old Lady” as previously mentioned.

  12. “Skippy was the grandson…” should have been the first line of the previous message.

  13. 92% I have never been more proud of a non-100% Lunchtime Quiz score.

    Long live Animaniacs

  14. Republic Dominican, Cuba, Caribbean, Greenland, El Salvador, too…
