A few months ago, it was becoming clear that our Ohio office had outgrown our Ohio office space. When Toby, Melanie, Dana & Nanette set out to find new digs, they found a convenient location with plenty of warehouse space—and it just happened to come with a nice little retail area out front.
So, we figured, what the heck?
The Grand Opening celebration for the first mental_floss retail store will be held this Saturday and Sunday from noon-4pm. If you live in the greater Cleveland area or are Thanksgiving-ing in those parts, come on by and say hello! You can pick up a free copy of the magazine, grab some food and drink, and perhaps win some mental_floss stuff.
Here’s the address: 8051 Mayfield Rd, Chesterland, OH (View on Google Maps.)
If you can’t make the Grand Opening but still want to stop by, the store will be open from 10am-6pm Monday through Friday, and noon-4pm Saturday and Sunday.
One more thing: If you can make it to Chesterland this weekend, tell ‘em Jason sent you and get a free mental_floss tote bag! (I’ve always wanted to say that.)
CONGRATULATIONS M_F!!!! I’m in Texas but the people of Ohio are in for a treat! You guys can even do events in the store, how exciting!

Congrats on the opening of your retail store! I know it was a whim, but I have faith many more will follow.

Am I the only one who sees the irony in “feeling smart” about being in Ohio?

I live in Michigan but once ended up in Toledo trying to get to a record store in Ann Arbor so a trip to Cleveland shouldn’t be too hard ! LOL
Hope you sell out on this big shopping weekend! Good luck!

I like the idea of \events\ held in the store. Let us know when the first is scheduled and we will make the two hour drive.

Ooh, now I’m tempted to make to 2 hour road trip. Wish I could justify the gas use. And I also agree on the events. That I could justify. :)

Graduation, Christmas, and my birthday are all within the same month. Can I have a mental_floss retail store in my backyard? And then can I have a job there?

Woah, we have a store now?! Do we bloggers all have to work shifts and wear funny paper hats?

I will make it out to the east side of Cleveland sometime, but you should open up another store on the west side of Cleveland. I know a good location right behind my apartment.

I went…I bought…I made an ass of myself going on and on and on and on and on about how much I love the magazine. Actually got giddy being the first person to say “Jason Sent Me!” I am officially a geek.

True Flossie Goodness. Thanks for the heads up for the (awesome) tote bag. All the tee shirts, visiting bloggers, stacks of all the back issues in one place and grand opening cake too.

Amazing! I grew up just around the corner from the store. I’ll definitely be stopping in when I visit friends in Chesterland after Christmas!
